Date:2016-01-24

Project Name: Remote Sensing Database of World Heritage Sites in China and Dynamic Monitoring Research
Project Leader: Yang Ruixia
Team Members: Xiang Bo, Wang Xinyuan, Liu Chuansheng, Zhou Wei, Hong Tianhua, Ji Wei, Peng Yanyan, etc.
Project Entrusted by: 2011.12
Project Period: January 2012 – December 2014
Project Overview:
Based on the remote sensing data of World Heritage Sites in China collected in different periods, the project formulates the standards for the remote sensing database of World Heritage Sites in China, constructs the database, and conducts dynamic monitoring research in selected cultural heritage sites of different types to provide a remote sensing data source for cultural heritage management and protection planning and present technology and application reference for heritage site monitoring by remote sensing.
Through research, this project is expected to provide remote sensing database standards and an important source of data for the research, protection, promotion and display of World Heritage Sites in China, set a model for remote sensing monitoring of World Heritage Sites in China, and offer a basis and reference for the future establishment of a global remote sensing and environmental space information system for world heritage sites.
Project Outcomes:
(1) Remote Sensing Data Collation and Analysis Report of World Heritage Sites in China
(2) Remote Sensing Database of World Heritage Sites in China – Metadata Contents and Code Standards (Draft)

Science and Technology Research Project of National Heritage : Remote Sensing Database of World Heritage Sites in China and the Dynamic Monitoring Research of the Demonstration Areas
The remote sensing database of over 40 World Heritage Sites in China is to be built. , which includes four secondary databases of remote sensing data, basic geographic data, cultural heritage and metadata respectively. The system will realize the functions of fast query and location of World Heritage Sites based on property name and space and achieve the dynamic display and monitoring results of remote sensing data of each World Heritage Site in China.
Focusing on remote sensing image data of World Heritage Sites in China, the data types include aerial image data and satellite image data. The data include remote sensing data with 0.4-30 m resolution of different types and in non-consecutive periods from 1972 to 2011.
Dynamic Monitoring of Yin Xu Site in Anyang by Remote Sensing
Dynamic monitoring of Yi Xu in Anyang is conducted by using remote sensing data in different periods since the 1970s. The impact of changes in objects and landscape on the heritage site is analyzed through extracting the information of changes in monitoring indicators about the settlements, factories, riverway, roads and green area within the scope of the heritage site.
