It will notably survey the cultural attributes of the site and provide recommendations as to the re-drafting of its retrospective Statement of Outstanding Universal Value. The mission will hold consultations with the Australian authorities at both national and local levels and all other relevant stakeholders, including NGOs.
Afterward, the mission team will provide a report that sets out recommendations for examination by the World Heritage Committee at its 40th session, which will take place from 10 to 20 July 2016 in Istanbul, Turkey.
